1950-1951 Fender Broadcaster Vintage Wiring Harness Blend Circuit
This pre-wired Fender Broadcaster Vintage Wiring Harness is designed for replacing old electrics or upgrading the electronics of imported models or for use on DIY Kits. If you are building a classic Broadcaster or want to convert your Tele to the original 1950-1951 Broadcaster wiring, then this wiring harness is for you! This circuit doesn’t offer a standard tone control as you would normally expect.
This Broadcaster wiring harness really shines when the bridge pickup and blend option is engaged. You can mix in as much or as little of the neck pickup as you like, using the tone knob as a blend control. There are some amazing blend tones in there that you can’t find on a standard wiring harness, this is why it is so frustrating trying to find that broadcaster tone on a standard harness.

Premium 250k CTS Potentiometers x 2 – Solid Shaft with Vintage Audio Taper.
CRL Vintage USA 3-way switch.
Switchcraft Jack Socket.
Capacitor / Sprague Orange Drop, Size: 0.047uF.
Tinned-copper “buss” ground wire.
Gavitt USA made cloth covered 22AWG wire.

1) Bridge pickup with blend option engaged to allow the neck pickup to be added with no tone control.
2) Neck pickup alone with the blend option disabled and no tone control.
3) Neck pickup alone with tone capacitor engaged and blend option disabled.
Will this fit my guitar?
Our pre-wired Fender Broadcaster Vintage Wiring harness is wired to fit genuine Fender USA or Mexican control plates. If installing into an imported model, you will need to ensure the Potentiometer holes on the control plate will take CTS pots (approx 10mm). This can be done using a round file or carefully with a 10mm drill. Please also check the 64mm measurement between the centre of volume pot to centre of tone pot, as a lot of imported models are 60mm. We can build the harness to 60mm for you, just let us know when you place order.
Measurements between components
Centre of Switch to volume pot = 40mm.
Centre of volume pot to centre of tone pot = 64mm.
These measurements were taken from a USA Fender Control Plate.

The Broadcaster wiring harness is one of the more simple harnesses to fit with just 5 wires to solder, 2 x ground and the 2 hot wires from the pickups and the ground wire from the bridge. All ground wires go to the back of the Volume Potentiometer and the pickup hot wires go to the 3 way switch at opposite ends. There is sometimes an additional ground wire from the body which you will need to solder to the back of the Volume Potentiometer.
