Gibson & Epiphone Explorer Vintage Style Wiring Harness
This pre-wired Gibson & Epiphone Explorer Vintage Style Wiring Harness is designed for replacing old electrics or upgrading the electronics of imported models or for use on DIY Kits. We take a massive amount of care and attention when putting our Gibson & Epiphone Explorer harnesses together. Everything is fully tested before being posted to you.

Components
Premium 500k CTS Potentiometers x 3, short or long split shaft with vintage audio taper (fitted with additional nut for height adjustment on the long shaft pot).
Capacitor x 1, Size 0.022uF / Sprague Orange Drop or PIO Paper in Oil.
Switchcraft USA Jack Socket.
Gavitt USA made Braided wire.
20AWG Tinned copper ground.

Long or Short Potentiometers? (Pots)
If you are unsure of the pot length required on your Explorer guitar, then please order the Long Pots as they will fit all models and can also be adjusted in length due to the extra nut fitted, where if you order the Short Pots they may not be long enough.
Short Pot threaded bushing height: 9.52mm.
Long Pot threaded bushing height: 19.05mm (supplied with 2 nuts for height adjustment).
Controls
Volume 1 – Bridge.
Volume 2 – Neck.
Tone 1 – Master Tone.
Will this fit my guitar?
Our pre-wired Explorer Wiring harness is wired to fit genuine Gibson & Epiphone models. If installing into an imported model / DIY guitar kit you will need to ensure the Potentiometer holes will take CTS pots (approx 10mm). This can be done using a round file or carefully with a 10mm drill.
Centre to centre measurements between components
Pot Spacing is normally 60mm apart – centre to centre
When ordering, please email us the distance (centre to centre) of the 3 pots on your Explorer. There are several variations of the Explorer pots spacing. We allow plenty of movement in wire lengths between components to allow for a comfortable fit.
