The C.F. Martin & Company acoustic guitar known as a Martin, has a history of two centuries of excellence and the company was founded in 1833. The company’s headquarters and primary factory are situated in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
The company has also made mandolins, as well as several models of electric guitars and electric basses, although none of these other instruments are still in production.
Martin guitars are built to the highest level and artists like Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Hank Williams, Neil Young, John Mayer and many others all played Martins, creating much of the soundtrack of the last century.
It is highly respected for its acoustic guitars and is a leading manufacturer of flat top guitars.
