This pre-wired Fender Mustang Vintage Wiring Harness is designed for replacing old electrics or upgrading the electronics of imported models or for use on DIY Kits. Components
Premium 250k CTS Potentiometers x 2 with Vintage Audio Taper – Solid Shaft or Split Shaft
Swictchraft 3 Position Slide Switches – Black or White tips available
Capacitor / Sprague Orange Drop or PIO Paper in Oil, Size 0.022uF.
Switchcraft Jack Socket.
Tinned-copper “buss” ground wire.
Gavitt USA made cloth covered 22AWG wire.

Switching
The 2 switch system on a Mustang is called a “Phase Slider” This is a typical setup.
Here is an overview of how the Phase Slider settings work. B means back (switch towards the bridge), C means centre position OFF, F means front (switch towards the neck).
CC – Both pickups OFF
BC – Rear pickup only
FC – Rear pickup only
CB – Front pickup only
CF – Front pickup only
BB – Both pickups, in-phase
FF – Both pickups, in-phase
BF – Both pickups, out-of-phase
FB – Both pickups, out-of-phase
Will this fit my guitar?
Our pre-wired Fender Mustang Vintage Wiring harness is wired to fit genuine Fender USA or Mexican control plates. If installing into an imported model, you will need to ensure the Potentiometer holes on the control plate will take CTS pots (approx 10mm). This can be done using a round file or carefully with a 10mm drill.
Measurements between components
Centre of Volume to Tone pot = 50mm.
Centre of Tone Pot to Jack Socket = 40mm.
These measurements were taken from a USA Fender Mustang Control Plate.
