We are specialises in Vintage, Classic, Boutique Handwound Guitar Pickups made in our workshop here in Gloucestershire, UK.

Our Axekool vintage pickups are 100% handwound. Traditionally pinched between forefinger and thumb on one of our very own unique hand built pickup winding machines. To look at our pickup winding machines you would laugh! They started off as old vintage sewing machines with a lot of bits removed and a few things added and a few custom specifications. We thought to create unique sounding pickups, we would need unique pickup winders rather than to use one of the many off the shelf winding machines that everyone else uses.

Unlike machine wound pickups, handwound (scatterwound) pickups can have a richer harmonic voice.

All our pickups are custom wound to order, we don’t have a shelf load of pickups boxed and ready to go, when you order pickups from us, they’re made only for you.
